About Johnnie
Hey all, i’m Johnnie Moët Entre ma Garza and I really am the key voice behind Flicks and Food.
I are a home- grown State of texas! Raised in Southern Texas through the area the Rio Grande Valley( about 6th miles through the Mexico border), I spent a lot of my own, personal childhood in two countries. At this time I stay in the San Antonio area, a location with diverse civilizations and cuisines.
Love my in food came to exist while very young at any time I might sit with the food prep reading both Gourmet Cook books& Magazines and Barbecue& Grilling how- to in anything from Javelina to refreshing grown vegetables. Maturing during south Texas where hunting was initially a household ritual and refreshing vegetables were plentiful, it had been first typical to enjoy fresh foodstuff. But I seemed to be released to numerous foods and cultures because of my Daddy and Uncle who both cherished to cook and were equally excellent chefs in their own best.

Both medical doctors by company, they used cooking in an effort to rest. My Dad loved to quest, fish and grill, so all of us might have great parties with grilled venison, quail, pheasant, chicken breast, Javelina, dove, redfish and choto all accompanied by many refreshing vegetables and fruits . It will remind me a little of the Brazilian Churrasco style barbecue thus popular today.
My Uncle, about the other hand, loved understanding foods from other countries . That was not unusual to take in Escargot, smoked cows tongue, Rugged Mountain Oysters, French pastries or maybe Indian food when visiting him. I even remember him having fresh live Maine lobsters during the refrigerator awaiting their fortune for lunch that night. The guy would actually have them flown in and delivered to his home since this was just before most supermarkets and restaurants taken them live.
They also liked fine wines which I am convinced they came by naturally. Their very own surname( and my maiden name) is Moët, such as the Wine. Not a birthday, holiday or maybe family get- together gone by without a bottle or maybe two of Moët Champagne.
My own Dad also loved to increase his own fruits and veg so we always had a great abundance of any citrus berry you could name along with avocados, corn, tomatoes, melons, figs, papayas, grapes… well you get the point. There was nothing the guy did not make an effort to grow and virtually all was a great success . The guy also raised goats, chicken, geese and pheasants. We had your cow for fresh milk, cream and butter.

As I progressed up, I would watch my own father& Uncle cook and always sample everything. I noticed about tastes and textures, preparing food methods and preparing food from the ground up. And as I actually learned, I always had the thirst for more information . I wanted to find the world, learn regarding other cultures and most critical taste the foodstuffs and wines in other spots.
I use traveled throughout the world since I was very fresh. My parents owned a farm outside of Saltillo, Mexico, thus I spent many summers right now there watching the ranch cook, Sipreano, making big pots of dark- colored bean soup and grilling various meats over a fire. Since the fact that time I have been privileged traveling many areas of South america and discover the assorted repas in all of them .
I actually also lived in Germany to get almost 5 years where I actually was able to see, eat or drink my way through most in that country and almost most of Europe. Even today my “hunger” to travel has never ceased and I always have your bag packed and ready to go. I love learning regarding different cuisines, wines, cultures and destinations!
My quest to study has taken me to a few continents so far and i actually also am always searching to get the next great meal, end up being it at a restaurant, streets vendor or in someone ‘s residence.
